Every now and then, you come across something that makes you stop.
Not a huge waterfall. Not a mountain view. Just a spider web covered in morning dew.
The funny thing is, that web wasn’t built that morning. It had been there the whole time. You just couldn’t see it until the light hit it the right way.
I think life is a lot like that.
How many things have been sitting right in front of us that we never noticed? Opportunities. Answers. Beauty. Even people. Sometimes nothing changes except our perspective.
The spider didn’t rush to build its web overnight. It connected one strand at a time. If part of it gets damaged, it doesn’t give up. It just starts repairing it, one thread at a time.
Nature never seems to be in a hurry.
People are.
We’re always looking for quick results. We want to feel better faster, solve problems faster, and get where we’re going faster. But almost everything in nature happens slowly. Trees take years to grow. Mushrooms spend most of their lives hidden underground before they ever pop up. Even a spider web takes patience.
Maybe we’re not as far behind as we think.
Maybe some of the most important things in our lives are happening quietly, even when we can’t see them yet.
Then there are the drops of dew.
Each one is tiny, but if you look closely, it’s reflecting the entire world around it. It’s amazing how something so small can hold so much beauty.
That’s one of the reasons I love hiking.
Sure, I enjoy the big views, but some of my favorite moments are the little ones that most people walk right past. A patch of moss. A weird mushroom growing out of a log. Sunlight coming through the trees. Or a spider web that suddenly appears because the morning light finally catches it.
Those are the moments that remind me to slow down.
I don’t think the world suddenly becomes magical at sunrise.
I think it’s been that way all along.
The morning just gives us a chance to notice.

So true, Andrea. Great beauty and magic moments are all around us, there to appreciate when we afford ourselves the opportunity to do so, slowing down to make time, to look more closely. Have a splendid Tuesday, my friend 🙂
